Welcome.  My name is Maria Rosenthal.

I have more than twenty years of success as an accomplished and versatile leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, specializing in fashion brand building and business development. 

 

My background is in design, merchandising and sales, along with executive-level responsibilities in driving business strategy, growth and innovation. My approach is strategic and methodical, with a focus on the relationship between product development and sales analytics.

 

I have a proven ability to set a clear vision and deliver immediate impact, streamline the design process and facilitate cross-functional collaborations.

 

Early in my career, I successfully built and launched my own fashion-driven activewear company, Mari Dade, which grew into a multimillion dollar brand sold to over 300 accounts globally. Most recently, I've launched two major brands for G-III Apparel, including Tommy Hilfiger Sport & DKNY Sport. Within five years, we grew DKNY Sport from initial concept to over $70 million annually. 

 

Currently, I've been tasked with launching Starter Black Label - a brand extension for Starter - while simultaneously helping grow and expand the team sports and collegiate businesses.

 

I take pride in delivering great product, empowering teams, and increasing profits while focusing on long-term strategies.

Lauched in October 2024, Starter Black Label is the ultimate premium lifestyle brand extension focusing on sports inspired apparel supported by Starters authentic heritage.

Starter began with an iconic star and the idea that "every athlete dreams of being a starting player."  But Starter didn't stop at athletes, transforming sports culture into fan culture and then into pop culture.

​

Early on Starter was able to unite sports & fashion, and that is what Starter Black Label is about.

DKNY Sport launched in September 2017, with fashion-led design infused with technical innovation.

DKNY Tech launches dynamic ski capsule for winter 2023. 

The constant rush and forward movement of New York; the breathtaking experience of an alpine escape. This is the dual point of departure for the DKNY Tech collection.

The brand's first ski capsule plays out as a mash-up of performance skiwear, downtown street style and sport accessories - all designed to make a dynamic winter statement both on and off the slopes.

DKNY Sport launches tennis-inspired capsule for pre-spring 2023.  Get ready for some courtside action.  DKNY Sport is trading the city streets for the clay courts with the launch of the brand's first tennis-inspired lifestyle capsule.
